Sydney Launches World’s First AI-Powered Traffic Flow Network

Sydney, Australia’s largest city, has rolled out a revolutionary AI-powered traffic signal system that uses real-time vehicle data to manage congestion more efficiently. Developed by the startup GreenPulse AI, the system adjusts signal timing every few seconds based on actual traffic patterns.

Initial trials in central Sydney reduced average travel times by 38%, with emissions dropping by nearly 25% during peak hours. Authorities now plan to expand the system to suburban routes and connect it with public transport networks.

Urban planners in Delhi, Dhaka, and Kathmandu have expressed interest in the project, particularly as cities in South Asia grapple with mounting traffic woes and rising vehicular pollution levels.
