Tamil actor and comedian RS Sivaji dies at 66

Popular actor and comedian RS Shivaji passed away in Chennai on Saturday morning. The actor was 66. Shivaji was the son of actor and producer MR Santhanam and brother of actor and director Santhana Bharathi.

Known for starring in films like Kamal Haasan’s Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Vikram, Satya and Anbe Shivam, Shivaji’s claim to fame came in the form of Apoorva Sagodharargal where his comedy sequences with Janaraj became a huge hit.

Over the years, the actor has done several films mainly as a comedian before switching to supporting roles in the last few years. In recent times, she has been critically acclaimed for her roles in films like Kolamavu Kokila and Gargi.
Shivaji’s last film appearance was Yogi Babu-starrer Lucky Man which released last Friday.
