Tamil Nadu intercaste couple invited by Women’s family for feast , hacked to death

An inter-caste couple who obtained married five days ago were fed dinner and then hacked to death by means of the woman’s brother and his buddy who desired to marry her, near Kumbakonam on Monday evening. Police stated Saranya, 24, was a dalit and her husband, Mohan, 21, a naicker.

Police arrested Saranya’s brother Sakthivel, 31, a resident of Cholapuram Thulukkaveli village close to Kumbakonam, and his friend Ranjith, 28, of Devanancheri, a neighbouring village, for the murders.
Five months ago, Saranya took her ailing mom for remedy to the Chennai sanatorium the place she worked as a nurse. That’s when Saranya befriended Mohan, a native of Ponnur in Tiruvannamalai district, who was the attendant of a patient in the bed next to Saranya’s mom in the hospital.

Saranya’s household opposed their relationship as they had determined to marry her to Ranjith, one of the accused.

Saranya and Mohan bought married in Chennai five days ago and then knowledgeable her family.

Police stated Sakthivel invited Saranya and Mohan for a feast in Thulukkaveli intending to put off them. Believing that the household had usual the inter-caste marriage, the couple arrived at the village on Monday evening. After having dinner, when they stepped out of their house, Sakthivel and Ranjith hacked them to loss of life and escaped.
Thanjavur superintendent of police G Ravali Priya instructed newshounds that “We have secured the two accused and in addition inquiries are on. Based on the statements from witnesses, a specific chargesheet will be filed before the court.”
