TATA AIA Life empowers Mizoram’s students with digital classrooms, boosts insurance awareness across state

TATA AIA Life Insurance has launched a comprehensive CSR initiative introducing smart classrooms in eight government schools across Aizawl. The three-year project (2024–2026) aims to impact 1,436 students with digital tools, enhanced infrastructure, and localized e-learning content created in collaboration with Teachmint Edutech.

According to the ASER 2024 report, only 10.6% of schools in Mizoram have computer facilities. Addressing this gap, Tata AIA’s initiative includes teacher training workshops, interactive content in core subjects, and hardware support such as projectors and connectivity devices. “Our role in Mizoram goes beyond insurance. We’re committed to uplifting communities through digital and educational empowerment,” said Kristyl Bhesania, CHRO, TATA AIA.

Aizawl has responded positively, with schools reporting increased student engagement, attendance, and growing interest in digital learning tools. Local educators also highlight the benefit of professional training, which enhances their teaching capabilities and connects with Mizoram’s tech-savvy youth. Complementing its education efforts, Tata AIA’s outreach through ‘Bimarath’, social media in the Mizo language, and monthly Masik Bima Diwas has reached over 8 lakh people in Mizoram, reinforcing its commitment to the IRDAI’s “Insurance for All by 2047” vision.
