Tata Motors inaugurates its fourth RVSF in Chandigarh

Tata Motors, India’s top automobile manufacturer, has launched its fourth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Chandigarh, ‘Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect,’ under the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, Mr. Shailesh Chandra. Tata Motors has opened a state-of-the-art facility, the RVSF, which can safely disassemble 12,000 end-of-life vehicles annually.

The facility, developed and operated by Tata Motors’ partner Dada Trading Company, can scrap both passenger and commercial vehicles, regardless of their brand, in line with the company’s commitment to eco-friendly initiatives. This follows Tata Motors’ successful three previous RVSFs in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, and Surat.

Re.Wi.Re. is a digital facility designed for environmentally friendly dismantling of end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles. It offers cell-type and line-type dismantling, with dedicated stations for safe component disposal. The facility ensures meticulous documentation, safe disposal, and compliance with vehicle scrappage policies, promoting sustainable practices in the automotive industry. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said “Through this initiative, we aspire to drive the adoption of newer, safer and more fuel-efficient vehicles, in alignment with our vision of a cleaner and healthier planet.”
