Tata Motors Ltd. reported strong financial and operational performance in Q2 FY27, with standalone revenue rising 42% year-on-year to ₹23,930 crore and consolidated revenue increasing 36% to ₹25,338 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.

Standalone EBITDA grew 31% to ₹2,800 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 11.7%, down 90 basis points year-on-year but unchanged sequentially despite rising commodity costs. Profit before tax, excluding exceptional items, increased 51% to ₹2,660 crore, while profit after tax reached ₹2,100 crore. Free cash flow stood at ₹4,606 crore, strengthening the company’s net cash position to ₹11,300 crore. Consolidated profit after tax rose 244% to ₹1,300 crore.

Total wholesales increased 42% to 135,100 units, with domestic and export volumes growing 30% and 177%, respectively. Tata Motors’ domestic commercial vehicle market share stood at 36.2% in H1 FY27, up 110 basis points from FY26.

In Kolkata, infrastructure activity, logistics demand and fleet replacement could support commercial vehicle sales. The company’s expanded vehicle portfolio and financing initiatives for electric commercial vehicles may also create opportunities, although commodity inflation remains a challenge.

Managing Director and CEO Girish Wagh said the company remained focused on profitable growth, cost efficiency and customer value. The Iveco tender offer will remain open until October 26, with settlement scheduled for October 30, subject to successful completion.
