Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus started new bus service ahead of Puja

Ahead of the puja, two AC rocket buses and two CNG bus services were started from the central bus terminus at Tenzing Norge in Siliguri. North Bengal Rashtriya Paribahan Nigam Chairman Parthapratim Roy, Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Gautam Dev, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, and others inaugurated the bus service by showing the green flag. Parthapratim Roy said that two AC rocket buses will ply on Siliguri and Kolkata and two CNG buses on the Siliguri-Cochbehar route. He also said that the North Bengal Rashtriya Paribahan Nigam will soon launch several more CNG-powered bus services to keep the environment pollution-free.

There are a total of 30 new CNG buses. Out of which 2 new CNG buses have already reached North Bengal. Besides, the company is bringing 12 new rocket buses. Among the rocket buses, five new rocket buses have already arrived at Siliguri’s Central Bus Terminus. After that, seven more rocket buses will also arrive within a few days. Two buses have been started on the Cooch Behar-Siliguri route since the Mahalaya day. This is the first CNG bus to be introduced in North Bengal. From tourists to environmentalists, naturally happy. Apart from starting the bus service on this day, the drivers, stewards, and technicians who have done good work were honored with ten thousand rupees in cash, saplings, and certificates. Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Gautam Dev and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

North Bengal State Transport Corporation Chairman Partha Pratim Roy said, “CNG buses are known to have various advanced services. Apart from this, modern rocket buses have various services, including charging points, pushback seats, study lights, and window shade. He also said that passenger service has been disrupted for three consecutive months due to bus selection for our various routes. Efforts are being made to restore passenger services. Basically, NBSTC is thinking of launching multiple new routes, keeping tourists in mind.
