The Biggest conference in Diabetes in the Northeast held  at Taj Vivanta on 30 th October. It was organized by Counting Sugar in partnership with Association of Clinical Endocrinology (ACE) and Diabetes India. The conference stood unique  from all Diabetes conference. Learning was made fun. The sessions were interactive with expert panelists and not monologue. An IPL Diabetes session was designed . Doctors were divided into teams. They questioned the opposition on their presentation  resulting  in clarity on the concepts . The music, the scoring of Sugar runs only added to the zeal and enthusiasm of the doctors.

In most sessions, Real Life cases were discussed in panels making it interesting and challenging.The houseful audience went home with practical pearls that will make a change in Diabetes Management in North East. It was a springboard for younger Doctors to showcase their talent and knowledge.The basics of how a Sugar reading can go wrong were the opening gambit of the meet. It was followed by how we could fight the twin challenging of managing sugar in pregnancy. The nuts and bolts of cutting edge new Diabetes medicines were discussed. How to deal with the crisis and boiling points of Diabetic emergencies was discussed by experts across hospitals of Guwahati . Expert Kidney Doctors taught how to approach abnormal kidney tests and top Liver Doctors discussed what not to prescribe in fatty liver  It was a fitting tribute to the vision of Dr Rajkumar Bhartia who had spent his lifetime serving people of North East .

Dr Banshi Saboo from Ahmedabad gave an insight into Obesity and how we could fight this global war. It was a magical atmosphere with Doctors writing their own messages against the fight of Diabetes and posting on social media. Dr Mithun Bhartia, the Organising  Secreatery  was  the man behind the show. He could spin a spectacular meet which would become a new benchmark in how you can recreate life and fun into serious academics.
