The Elite National Women’s Boxing Championships

Telangana Boxing star and therefore the regnant world champion, Nikhat Zareen, and Lovlina Borgohain, the bronze medalist from the Tokio Olympiad, each won gold medals within their separate finals in the Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships. The Railway Sports Promotion Board won the team trophy with 10 awards within the sixth Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships in Bhopal.


Lovlina of state defeated Arundhati Choudhary of the Services Sports panel (SSCB) 5-0 within the 75kg final, whereas Nikhat endured a tough check from Anamika of the RSPB within the 50kg final before the 26-year-old Telangana fighter won 4-1 to defend her championship. 


The Railways team flat-topped the medals tally with ten medals – 5 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze. Madhya Pradesh team came second with one gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze, and Haryana with 2 gold and 2 bronze claimed the third spot.
