The forensic expert’s report in the case of a minor’s rape and murder

The bicycle of the accused and the manner in which he rode it became one of the evidences in the court in the rape-murder case of the minor. Last year on August 21, a criminal named Mohammad Abbas killed a minor girl after raping her in Matigara, Siliguri. Police investigation proved that Abbas chased the minor on his bicycle while returning home from school. The minor was mistakenly placed on the carrier of his bicycle and taken to an abandoned warehouse in Matigara. After raping and murdering the minor there, he quickly fled on a bicycle.

That bicycle of Abbas became one of the evidences in this case. The CCTV footage shows how Abbas rides a bicycle. The manner of his cycling was re-examined by a forensic expert. Abbas was given the cycle again in front of the forensic expert. According to the report, the cyclist seen in the CCTV footage and the cyclist riding in front of the forensic experts are the same person. A Siliguri court judge found Abbas guilty in the case on Wednesday. Sentencing will be announced tomorrow, Friday. Bivas Chattopadhyay, the government lawyer in the case, said, “We had a lot of evidence to prove the crime. But one of the most important evidences is this bicycle and Abbas’s habit of cycling. That is especially helpful in proving the crime.

Last year, the murder of this minor in Siliguri created a stir. The state government also gives special importance to this case. The investigation began. The hearing of the case started in January this year. Demonstrations are regularly held in court demanding hanging of convicts. A total of 22 people’s testimony was taken. One of the witnesses was a policeman and a thirteen-year-old minor. Shortly after that, he saw Abbas going out on a bicycle with a handkerchief tied around his face. To match the person in the CCTV footage and the person seen by the girl, the posture of Abbas’s cycling was examined by a forensic expert. As a result, Abbas’s guilt was confirmed. Minor’s blood was also found on Abbas’s clothes. Moreover, blood stains were also found on the brick with which the minor was killed.
