In a proud moment for Tripura, the West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat under Jirania RD Block in West Tripura district has won the National Level Silver Award at the 28th National Conference on e-Governance 2025, held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The recognition marks a major milestone in the state’s journey toward strengthening digital governance at the grassroots level. The award, one of the highest honours for local self-governments in the field of technology-driven governance, was conferred for innovative use of digital platforms and citizen-centric service delivery. Officials said West Majlishpur stood out for its efforts in making government services more transparent, efficient, and accessible to rural citizens.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha congratulated the Panchayat, calling the achievement a “landmark” moment for the state. “West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat’s recognition at the national level underscores our efforts to deliver transparent and efficient governance to the people. This award reflects our commitment to building a citizen-friendly administration through innovation and technology,” Dr. Saha said in his message. The District Magistrate of West Tripura also lauded the Panchayat’s work, noting on social media that the recognition was the result of sustained efforts to strengthen e-Governance at the village level. “This award highlights the dedication of local bodies to bring services closer to the people and to promote accountability,” the DM said.

According to officials, the Panchayat’s initiatives include digital grievance redressal mechanisms, online service applications, and use of ICT tools for monitoring development schemes. These measures have not only streamlined administrative processes but also empowered rural citizens with faster access to welfare services.
