“Many Indians go for Hajj every year,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. This year, 1 lakh 75 thousand Indians went to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. The main Hajj period is from July 9 to 22. So far, 98 Indian pilgrims have died. They died of natural causes, mainly due to illness and old age.” At the same time, the Center said, the government is trying its best to help those who have gone to Saudi Arabia for Hajj from India.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Government of Saudi Arabia announced the start of Hajj on Friday according to the Islamic calendar. Since then, the crowd of pilgrims has started in Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, the temperature hovers around 50 degrees Celsius in Saudi Arabia. As a result, many have become sick due to the crowd and heat. The death toll has also crossed a thousand.

According to the list provided by the Saudi government, most of the pilgrims who died due to heat illness were Egyptian citizens. Apart from this, many citizens of the West Asian country of Jordan also died while going on Hajj. The Riyadh administration has arranged to keep the bodies of dead pilgrims in the morgue of the Al-Muaysem area near Makkah.
