Financial freedom and the opportunity to make a difference to the world are very important. Being an entrepreneur is also a liberating experience. Arman Kabir, a hotel owner, started his journey with nothing and through years of hard work and dedication, he became financially independent at the age of 35. A graduate from Magadh University, he initially worked in a marketing team. He also worked as a Bengali translator at a hotel in Ajmer. His first-hand experience with the hospitality sector gave him the courage to open his hotel. Without enough finances to operate and sustain his hotel, he approached OYO Hotels & Homes. In 2018, with their help he opened his first hotel.
Speaking about his experience, Arman, owner of OYO 10471 Hotel Samrat Palace, says, having the freedom and flexibility in the work-life schedule motivated him to start his own hotel. While working in Gurugram, he had the opportunity to interact with people from diverse fields and got to learn a lot about starting a business. When he came across OYO’s team, he started understanding the nitty-gritty of effectively running a hotel and could feel his dream is going to come true. After months of hard work, he finally opened his first hotel in 2018. During the pandemic, they have implemented the necessary sanitisation protocols and ensured that all guests continue to have a safe stay with OYO. His hotel has also been updated with the ‘Sanitised Stays’ tag which is a step towards reassuring the guests. Arman had to work his way through multiple hurdles to finally achieve success. It took a series of hits and misses for him to make it big. Now that he has a hotel in Kolkata, Arman is working hard to deliver a seamless and sanitised experience to all his guests. Owing to the success of Hotel Samrat, Arman has already begun working towards launching his next hotel. His transition from a corporate career to that of being an entrepreneur resonates strongly with the idea of achieving freedom in its true sense.
