The Tripura Assembly adopts a resolution lauding PM Modi and the military for Operation Sindoor

The Tripura Legislative Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, a counter-terrorism offensive carried out earlier this year. Chief Minister Manik Saha, who moved the congratulatory motion, strongly condemned the April 22 Pahalgam massacre in Kashmir, in which 26 people, including tourists, were killed by Pakistan-backed extremists. “This heinous act has deeply saddened the nation. I extend heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims,” Saha said while opening the session.

He recalled Prime Minister Modi’s warning that such attacks would not go unanswered. Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, targeted terrorist camps inside Pakistan, neutralising militants and crippling infrastructure used to aid cross-border attacks. India’s retaliatory missile strikes, according to Saha, inflicted heavy damage on military facilities without civilian casualties. “Every attack from Pakistan has been met with courage and precision by our armed forces. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Operation Sindoor reflects India’s strength, resolve, and commitment to protecting its citizens,” Saha said.

The Assembly’s resolution lauded the Army, Navy, Air Force, BSF, security agencies, and intelligence wings for their coordinated efforts. It described the operation as a “historic milestone” in India’s fight against terrorism and extended congratulations to the Prime Minister, Defence Minister, National Security Advisor, and the soldiers guarding the nation.
