The Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missile was successfully tested in two back-to-back flight tests at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO)

Flight tests were conducted using a ground-based man-portable launcher against swift unmanned aerial targets to simulate approaching and departing aircraft.

The mission objectives were met by the successful intercept of the targets.

Short-range low-altitude aerial threat neutralisation is the purpose of the VSHORADS Man Portable Air Defence System (MANPAD).
