“The White Tiger” Nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category for the 93rd Academy Awards

Oscars also known as The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious awards for cinema. The 93rd Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on April 25th. The global star Priyanka Chopra along with her beau, singer and actor Nick Jonas had announced the nominations live on Monday. Priyanka was really excited when she realized that the film “The White Tiger” which she executive produced and acted on was nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category. The film is directed by Ramin Bahrani which is an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s 2008 novel of the same name. Along with Priyanka Chopra the film also stars Adarsh Gourav and Rajkumar Rao in reading roles. It is an American film with an all Indian Cast and it is competing against some terrific films of the year such as “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm”, “The Father”, “One Night In Miami” and “Nomadland”.

 Two female directors Chloe Zhao “Nomadland” and Emerald Fennel “Promising Young Woman” made history, they are nominated in the Best Director Category which has never happened before in the Oscars history.

Frances McDormand , Viola Davis, Carrey Mulligan, Vanessa Kirby, and Adra Day are competing in the Best Actress Category. Whereas late Chadwick Boseman, Gary Oldman , Anthony Hopkins, Riz Ahmed and Steven Yeun are competing in the Best Actor category. Legendary actress Glenn Close is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category, she hasn’t won an Oscar in her forty-year long career but she has been nominated eight times.
