There has been a lot of snowfall in the charming village of Tawang

Heavy snowfall has been falling on the charming town of Tawang, which has had a significant impact on daily living and regular services. The region frequently experiences snowfall, but the severity and length of current spell have caused people and authorities to express severe concerns. The general interruption of water, power, and communication systems has been one of the snowfall’s main repercussions. Because of the impact of snow accumulation and falling trees on important infrastructure, officials are finding it challenging to continue operating normally.

Most stores are open, but fewer people are shopping because locals prefer to stay inside and only go outside to buy necessities. Due to frozen roads and non-operational cars, which make transportation dangerous, particularly for young people, many have ceased going to classes, which has had a significant negative impact on schools and other institutions. Several departments have started working on service restoration in response to the situation, including the Electrical Department, Public Health Engineering, Border Roads Organization (BRO), Public Works Department (PWD), and Rural Works Department (RWD).

Roads are being cleared, electrical lines are being repaired, and water supplies are being restored by their staff, who are working nonstop. Additionally, trapped visitors and commuters are receiving active assistance from police and military troops, especially in the high-altitude regions of Sela and Jaswantgarh, where the snowfall has been the most intense. The district’s administration is keeping a close eye on the situation and communicating with the army and other agencies to make sure the emergency response is managed efficiently.
