Tripura police confiscated counterfeit Indian currency amounting to Rs 10,000 in Irani village, Unakoti district, leading to the arrest of three individuals on Monday.
Arunoday Das, Officer-in-Charge of Irani Police Station, reported that the police acted on credible intelligence regarding the circulation of fake currency in the area. “Upon receiving specific information, we deployed undercover officers who intercepted an auto-rickshaw. During the operation, we detained three suspects and seized Rs 10,000 in counterfeit notes,” Das stated.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohid Mia, Aktar Ali, and Sayan Ali. Following their apprehension, a case has been registered against them, and they have been presented before the court for further proceedings.
