Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma on Friday said the state has arrested 6,800 people since May 2021 and seized drugs worth Rs 900 crore.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “The Assam administration is continuing its fight against drugs in an effort to make Assam a drug-free state. Since May 2021, Assam has detained 6,800 people and recovered 900 crore rupees worth of drugs “.
In a combined operation with the CRPF on August 2, the Assam Police confiscated a sizable number of illegal narcotics worth Rs 15 crore in the Karbi Anglong district, while on July 15 they apprehended a drug dealer in Karimganj and seized illegal drugs worth Rs 3 crore.
