TKM announces the launch of 50th Toyota Technical Education Program

Toyota Kirloskar Motor [TKM] has announced the launch of 50th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) institute at Government Polytechnic – Imphal with a view toenhance the students skill sets with special focus on rural areas. The inauguration event was graced by Mr. Basanta Kumar Singh, Minister for Education, Law & Legislative Affairs, Government of Manipur, in the presence of senior executives from TKM, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President and other officials.

With T-TEP, thus far, TKM is associated with 50 ITI/Polytechnic colleges covering 22 states. Currently, more than 10,000 students have been trained and 70% of the students are working in various automobile companies in the country. On this occasion, Shri Basanta Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Law, and Legislative Affairs, Government of Manipur, said, “The government remains committed to support such good initiatives by collaborating with industry partners like Toyota, thereby boost their efforts in bridging the existing skills gap and help develop world-class workforce.”

As a part of thisinitiative, Toyota will support the institute withlatest curriculum covering automobile fundamentals, safety, Toyota values and basic soft skills. In addition, the company will provide e-learning contents, engines, transmissions, practice kits and train the institute’s faculty throughits unique Train-The-Trainer approach.
