TKM witnesses good demand consistently across its portfolio

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) registered sales of 14,162 domestic units in the month of April, 2023. The company also exported 1,348 units of The Urban Cruiser Hyryder this month, thus clocking a total of 15, 510 units. While there were no exports in the corresponding period last year, TKM had registered domestic sales of 15,086 units in April 2022. The company undertook a week long maintenance shutdown from April 24-28, 2023 for the upkeep of machinery and equipment to sustain operational efficiencies, productivity and safety.

TKM posted a 26% increase in domestic sales in the first four months of 2023, selling 61,005 units compared to 48,278 units last year. TKM has restarted its export operations from the Indian market to South Africa and the Middle East from December 2022, exemplifying the company’s commitment to mass electrification with ‘Make in India’.

 It has also been exporting e-Drives, an electric powertrain component manufactured by Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts (TKAP) in Bidadi near Bengaluru. This development reflects India’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub for cleaner and greener vehicles. Speaking on sales numbers Mr. Atul Sood, Vice President, Sales and Strategic Marketing said, “The Vellfire and the Camry Hybrid are also steadily contributing to our sales.
