Toyota’s green initiative in Maharashtra drives sustainable futures

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has taken a significant step towards sustainable development by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Maharashtra to explore the establishment of a Green Field Manufacturing Facility at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. This initiative not only emphasizes eco-friendly advancements but also promises substantial social impact.

The MOU, exchanged by Dr. Harshadeep Kamble, Principal Secretary (Industries), Government of Maharashtra, and Sudeep Santram Dalvi, Director & Chief Communications Officer of TKM, was witnessed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, along with TKM’s MD and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura and Vice Chairperson Manasi Tata.

For the residents of Itanagar, this new facility represents more than technological progress; it brings hope for economic upliftment and a cleaner environment. The introduction of advanced green technologies will spur job creation and foster a sustainable future, transforming lives and boosting local economies.“Today’s MOU signing marks a pivotal point as we stride into the next phase of growth in India,” stated Masakazu Yoshimura, MD and CEO of TKM.This move builds on TKM’s Rs. 3,300 crore investment in Karnataka, reinforcing Toyota’s “Make in India” philosophy.
