Tripura BJP dismisses Khayerpur leader for indiscipline after he posts “personal videos” that became viral

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has expelled Manna Dey, the mandal president of Khayerpur Assembly constituency in West Tripura district, after a series of personal video and audio clips allegedly linked to him surfaced on social media. The state unit said the action was taken to protect the party’s image and maintain organizational discipline. According to party sources, the controversy began after several intimate clips and conversations involving local leaders started circulating widely on social media platforms. Dey himself allegedly shared some of these videos, triggering strong criticism from within the party as well as from the public.

In its expulsion order, the BJP leadership made clear that such behaviour could not be tolerated in a political organization that stresses discipline and public trust. “It has come to the notice of the party that you have started sharing personal videos on social media. Some other video clips were also being circulated on social media platforms. As a party worker, your action is against the party’s discipline and unacceptable,” the expulsion letter signed by state BJP general secretary Amit Rakshit read.

The letter further noted that despite repeated warnings, Dey continued with activities that the party considered damaging to its reputation. “Despite repeated warnings about your behaviour, you continue to break the discipline of the party. Therefore, you have been expelled from the party with immediate effect following a directive from the party state president, Rajib Bhattacharjee,” it said.
