Tripura CM says corruption and violence are over

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday declared that the days of corruption, appeasement politics, and violence are over in Tripura and the country, ushered out by a new era focused on development, innovation, and inclusive governance. He was speaking at a public gathering in Shantirbazar, South Tripura, during an event marking 11 years of Seva, Sushasan, and Garib Kalyan, celebrating the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government. “This is a government that doesn’t just promise—it performs,” said Saha, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming India’s governance model. Drawing a sharp contrast with the pre-2014 political climate, he said, “India once suffered from policy paralysis, insurgency in the Northeast, and cross-border threats that went unanswered. Today, under Modi ji, we respond with resolve, and the world views India with renewed respect.”

Highlighting Tripura’s transformation under BJP rule, CM Saha pointed to significant improvements in law and order, particularly in Shantirbazar, once notorious for political violence. “During the Left Front’s tenure, 69 political workers lost their lives in Shantirbazar alone. Since BJP formed the government, there hasn’t been a single political murder here,” he noted, underscoring the shift from fear and unrest to peace and stability. The Chief Minister also credited PM Modi with removing religion-based appeasement from national politics. “Unlike earlier regimes that divided people, Modi ji has focused on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, ensuring welfare for the poor, farmers, women, and youth, regardless of background,” Saha said. Turning to economic progress, Dr. Saha noted that Tripura now ranks second in per capita income among northeastern states, reflecting the state’s growing prosperity.

Nationally, India has witnessed a 67% rise in per capita income, he said, with the country’s global economic standing improving from 11th to 4th place in just over a decade. “The Gujarat model that once revived a state’s fortunes has now been scaled nationally. It is no longer just a state success story—it’s India’s story,” he said, referring to PM Modi’s political and administrative legacy. Dr. Saha also commended Modi’s leadership style, saying, “He has redefined governance. It’s no longer about empty speeches—it’s about real delivery, accountability, and connection with the grassroots.”
