Tripura Government and Patanjali Sign Agreement to Work Together in Several Sectors

The Tripura government has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust), based in Haridwar, to foster collaboration and investment across diverse sectors in the state. Key areas of focus include biodiversity conservation, bamboo and agar-based value chains, AYUSH and wellness initiatives, skill development, tribal welfare, agri-tech, tourism, information technology, and the enhancement of rural livelihoods. Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the potential of this partnership to unlock new opportunities, aiming to boost the state’s economy and promote sustainable development.

This MoU includes non-binding provisions, providing a framework for structured collaboration and project development in the future. Additionally, a sector-specific MoU has been signed between the Forest Department of the Government of Tripura and Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, concentrating on the development of forest and agro-forest value chains and aimed at enhancing research and innovation within the forestry sector.

The cooperation covers several initiatives, such as scientific research on agarwood, digital mapping of forest resources, and the development of ethical and sustainable marketing channels for forest products. It also promotes value addition of forest produce and biodiversity exploration. The partnership aspires to establish research centers, seed banks, and wellness-centric eco-tourism infrastructures, highlighting the commitment to sustainable practices and economic growth in Tripura.
