Tripura Govt Expands Women-Led Entrepreneurship Push Under Samriddhi 2.0

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced that more than 13,000 small enterprises will be developed across different blocks of the state under a major entrepreneurship initiative aimed at boosting rural livelihoods and women’s empowerment.The state government has earmarked nearly Rs 38 crore for the programme, which is expected to promote self-reliance, strengthen rural economic activity and generate large-scale employment opportunities.The Chief Minister made the announcement while launching the Samriddhi 2.0 programme at Rabindra Bhavan in Agartala.Addressing the gathering, Dr Saha said women-led empowerment initiatives are bringing major social and economic changes across Tripura. He stated that increasing participation of women in entrepreneurship and livelihood activities is helping build stronger families and communities while also contributing to the state’s economic growth.

According to the Chief Minister, women in Tripura are becoming more financially independent through various government-supported welfare schemes, self-help groups and livelihood missions.“The social system in Tripura is changing positively as women are becoming more self-reliant through entrepreneurship and economic participation,” Dr Saha said during the programme.He described women as one of the most resilient and tolerant sections of society and said their empowerment plays a key role in the long-term development of the state.The Chief Minister said the economic foundation of Tripura is gradually becoming stronger as more women enter self-employment and small business sectors. He added that the state government is giving special attention to promoting entrepreneurship among rural women and economically weaker sections.Referring to the impact of the Grameen Jivika Mission, Dr Saha said the programme has significantly helped rural women become financially self-sufficient. He also noted that the success of the earlier Samriddhi 1.0 campaign was made possible through joint efforts of government departments, women’s groups and local communities.

Dr Saha further said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently stressed the importance of women-led development under the vision of “Viksit Bharat” aimed at building a developed India by 2047.He said the confidence, dedication and determination shown by women are playing an important role in strengthening the country’s economy and social structure.Officials said Samriddhi 2.0 has been launched with expanded targets and a wider outreach following the positive response to the first phase of the programme. The initiative aims to improve livelihood opportunities, encourage entrepreneurship and support sustainable economic development in rural areas.The programme will focus on skill development, promotion of micro-enterprises, financial inclusion and market linkage support for small entrepreneurs across the state.
