Tripura’s Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) has won the “Initiative in IT” award at the 15th National Digital Transformation Awards 2024 for its Beneficiary Management System (BMS). The accolade highlights the state’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and efficient governance.
The award, presented by Gov-Connect in collaboration with the Department of IT, Government of Assam, recognizes Tripura’s pioneering efforts in digital transformation. The Beneficiary Management System, launched in 2020-21, integrates 100 welfare schemes across 23 departments, enabling seamless, paperless processing and eliminating fake beneficiaries. To date, it has covered over 11.6 lakh beneficiaries and disbursed ₹1,594.30 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Director of IT, Raghul Jeya Ragul Geshan B., IFS, attributed the success to the team’s dedication and the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy. He emphasized that the initiative ensures accountability, enhances citizen engagement, and aligns with the “Digital Tripura” vision.
