Heavy rainfall failed to dampen preparations for Tripura’s Independence Day celebrations, as Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar inspected arrangements for the state-level parade on Wednesday at the Assam Rifles Ground. The final full-dress rehearsal, scheduled for the morning, had to be called off after persistent downpours left parts of the parade ground waterlogged.
