A group of surrendered militants in Tripura lifted their highway blockade on Tuesday after over five hours, following government assurances to address their demands. The Tripura United Indigenous Returnees People's Council (TUIRPC) had initiated a 24-hour blockade on the Assam-Agartala National Highway at Hathai Kator in West Tripura district from 8 AM, protesting against the non-implementation of promises made during their surrender. The agitation disrupted vehicular movement, prompting intervention by authorities. Following discussions with District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, the blockade was lifted around 1:30 PM.
