Tripura Student Assault: CM Manik Saha Seeks Haryana CM’s Intervention, Promises Aid to Victim

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday said that he discussed with Haryana counterpart Nayab Singh Saini the incident of alleged brutal assault of a biotechnology student from Tripura at a paying guest accommodation in Gurugram. The Chief Minister, while taking to social media, said that Saini has assured him that he would personally look into the case and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to secure justice for the victim. Saha said that he also assured the victim’s mother of comprehensive support from the Tripura government.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has directed the Chief Resident Commissioner at Tripura Bhawan in Delhi to remain in close coordination with the family and extend all required assistance.


Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy also visited the hospital to assess the victim’s condition and provide support. The Chief Minister further coordinated with the office of the union Health minister to facilitate the best possible medical treatment for the student. The Tripura government is closely monitoring the incident, involving the alleged assault of the student by her live-in partner in Gurugram. The incident has sparked concern in Tripura at a time incidents of attacks and racial abuse against people from the Northeast are on the rise, particularly in the national capital and its nearby areas.
