Bandhan Group has announced plans to establish a medical college in Ambassa, Tripura, with an initial investment of Rs 200 crore. This announcement was made by chairman Chandra Sekhar Ghosh at the Prabashi Tripurabashi Summit 2025–26 in Agartala. The medical college is intended to include allied healthcare facilities, aimed at bolstering Tripura’s medical education and healthcare infrastructure, as well as generating employment opportunities for local youth. Additionally, Ghosh proposed the creation of a skill incubation centre in Tripura, contingent on the state government providing suitable space and offering free electricity and internet connectivity, with an estimated investment of Rs 10 crore for this initiative to boost skill development and entrepreneurship among young residents. Chief Minister Manik Saha, addressing attendees, encouraged the non-resident diaspora to contribute to Tripura’s development, highlighting the state’s new focus on transformation through reforms and proactive governance. He reassured investors of the government’s commitment to facilitating ease of doing business by streamlining industrial approvals and reducing bureaucratic obstacles. Sectors identified as having substantial investment potential included healthcare, education, IT, tourism, agro-based industries, and skill development. The summit attracted around 80 non-resident Tripuris from various regions, including ten to twelve NRIs, and featured discussions on aligning education and training with industry requirements.
