Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey on Thursday attended a review meeting on the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes at the Circuit House in Kailashahar, Unakoti district of Tripura. During his visit, the Minister interacted with tribal leaders and reviewed the progress of various flagship schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Vishwakarma, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM Gram Sadak Yojana and PM Fasal Bima Yojana. Earlier, he visited the historic Unakoti archaeological site and inspected several development projects in Kumarghat subdivision, including a TRLM agarbatti manufacturing unit, rainwater harvesting centre, Panchayat Resource Centre and marketing outlets run by Self Help Groups. The Minister also visited the Eklavya Model Residential School at Kumarghat and interacted with students, teachers and guardians regarding academic and residential facilities. Speaking to the media, the Minister said the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of the Northeastern region and the welfare of tribal communities.
