A 19-year-old university student from Tripura was reportedly assaulted and raped by her live-in partner in Gurugram, located in the Delhi-NCR region. According to police sources, the accused not only physically abused her but also recorded the assault and issued threats during the incident. The survivor’s family has expressed deep anguish, insisting on stringent action; her mother articulated that the family’s life has been shattered by the violence. In response to the allegations, police have filed an FIR against the accused, who hails from Narela in Delhi, under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically Sections 115, 118(1), 118(2), 127(2), 69, and 351(2). This case was logged at the Badshahpur police station following the survivor’s statement.
The complaint reveals that the survivor met the accused through an online app in September 2025, leading to regular interactions and eventually, meetings. She claims that he initiated physical relations under the false promise of marriage, upon which they began cohabiting in Gurugram. Unfortunately, the relationship took a violent turn, with the accused subjecting her to ongoing physical abuse. The complaint details several brutal instances of violence, including being struck on the head with a steel bottle, having her head smashed against various surfaces, and being hit with an earthen pot. Additionally, it is alleged that the accused poured sanitizer on her private areas and attempted to set them ablaze. Disturbingly, the survivor also claims that the accused filmed compromising videos of her during these assaults.
