Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Special Director General (Eastern Command) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Kolkata, concluded his three-day visit to Tripura on Wednesday after reviewing the overall border security and operational preparedness along the Indo–Bangladesh border.
During the visit from October 27 to 29, Aggarwal, accompanied by BSF Tripura Frontier Inspector General Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, toured several Border Out Posts (BOPs) across Khowai, Dhalai, and Unakoti districts. He inspected security installations, interacted with field officers and jawans, and reviewed measures to counter cross-border challenges including smuggling and infiltration. Aggarwal also presided over a Prahari Sammelan to address operational and welfare issues raised by BSF personnel. He commended their professionalism and vigilance, lauding their efforts in maintaining the sanctity of the international border despite challenging terrain and weather conditions.
In a morale-boosting gesture, the Special DG spent a night at a remote BOP and shared a Prahari Bhoj—a community meal—with jawans. Emphasizing technological integration and inter-agency coordination, Aggarwal praised the Tripura Frontier’s proactive role in ensuring robust border management. He concluded his visit on Wednesday evening and returned to Kolkata.
