Tripurasundari Temple redevelopment set for April 7 inauguration by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the redevelopment of the historic Tripurasundari Temple on April 7, pending final confirmation, Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced on Friday. During an inspection of the temple’s ongoing beautification project in Udaipur, Gomati District, Roy stated that all departments have assured completion of construction by March 20. The redevelopment is being carried out under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme.

“PM Modi has approved this project, and we hope he will inaugurate it. Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has invited him, and a tentative date of April 7 has been proposed,” Roy said. To maintain the temple’s sanctity, the government is considering restrictions on non-vegetarian food, including garlic and meat, around the premises. Additionally, actions are being taken against illegal constructions near the temple.

The minister dismissed concerns about changes in the temple’s color, calling them baseless. “This project has already increased tourist footfall, and we expect even more visitors in the coming days,” he added.
