Tuensang received two new Health Sub-Centres (HSC) at Sipongsang and Nyinyem villages under Tuensang Sadar block inaugurated by chief medical officer (CMO), Dr. I Moatemjen on February 5 and 6.
A press release by district media officer stated that the team was led by CMO and accompanied by ZLO Dr. Limawabang, gynaecologist (SMO), District Hospital Dr. Yanrenthung, dermatologist, Dr. Imlong, medical officers Dr. Mongko, Dr. Sao, Dr. Wapangla, staff from CMO establishment and DPMU (NHM) staff.
At the inaugural function at Sipongsang village, CMO encouraged local communities to support the department and urged medical workers to perform well to be the best sub-centre.
He further reminded the gathering that it was the duty of concerned communities to take ownership of the health unit as their own.
At Sipongsang village, the team also conducted free health camp at newly inaugurated sub-centre, where a total number of 60 OPDs were registered during the camp.
Leaflets on leprosy diagnostic card for health workers and face mask were also distributed at the camp.
