Two Held in Itanagar Over Alleged Links to Pakistani Spy Network

The Itanagar Police arrested Nazir Ahmad Malik and Sabir Ahmed Mir on 21 November for allegedly spying for Pakistani handlers. The suspects, both from Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, were apprehended after intelligence suggestions of their involvement in espionage. They reportedly gathered sensitive information on Army movements and installations in Arunachal Pradesh, sending it via a Telegram channel. Posing as cloth sellers, they traveled across various districts, including sensitive forward areas. During interrogation, Nazir revealed that Sabir recruited him for monetary gain and directed their spying activities. The police have expanded their investigation and anticipate further arrests while coordinating with multiple agencies.
