Two more people are suddenly in the race to become India’s coach

As of Tuesday morning, it was known that Gautam Gambhir was alone in the race to become the coach of the Indian team. But on Tuesday afternoon, two more names suddenly came up. Among them were one Indian and another foreigner. A media outlet reported in their report that Gambhir was interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee of the Indian Cricket Board on Tuesday. Also interviewed is former Indian cricketer WV Raman. Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjape, and Sulakshana Naik are on BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee.

According to the report, Gambhir gave a video call interview at his home on Tuesday. However, the advisory committee was happy with the manner in which Raman gave his thoughts in detail in the interview. Earlier, Raman was the coach of the Indian women’s team. He also has that experience. An official of the Indian Cricket Board said, “Gambir spoke for himself. But no separate preparation was done for the interview. But Raman was prepared. He gave a PowerPoint presentation. Everyone was very happy. A foreigner will be interviewed on Wednesday.”

It is not yet certain whether BCCI will advertise for a head coach as well as an assistant coach or not. It is believed that the assistant coach will be selected after the selection of the head coach. The official said, “The head coach’s role in hiring assistant coaches is very important. Because everyone wants to take the person of their choice. So BCCI is not doing any advertising separately. As far as the news goes, Gambhir might be the next coach. In that case, he will decide who will be taken as an assistant coach.”
