Two new COVID cases in Meghalaya

Two new COVID-19 cases were detected in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district, while one more recovered from the viral infection in the district on Thursday.  Meghalaya has registered 13, 985 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 148 deaths and 13, 817 recoveries so far, while the number of active cases as on date was 20. 

Of the 3, 81, 349 persons tested for COVID-19 till Thursday, 3, 67, 364 persons tested negative for the virus, even as 13 persons were in institutional quarantine and seven persons in home isolation in the State, which had one containment zone. 

On the other hand, 16,015 health care workers received the first dose of the Covishield vaccine and 8,138 health care workers received the second dose, while 29,213  front-line workers  were inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine and 132 frontline workers with second dose as on Wednesday.

 Moreover, 7,440 general public based on eligible age group have received their first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine so far.
