Typhoon Noru is coming, Heavy rains may lash Bengal on Mahasasthi

It is certain that rain is going to play havoc in Bangali’s biggest festival Durga puja. Despite the prayers of lakhs of devotees, the Met Office said there is no option of escaping from wet in Durga Puja this year.
Weather conditions have so far confirmed that Typhoon Noru will bring heavy rains to the city and other parts of the state. Cyclone Nuru will bring torrential rain during the festival.

“We expect the good intensity of rain from Shashti night to Ashtami morning. The maximum number of thundershower cells are likely to form during this period. We can expect rain intensity to reduce after Ashtami,” said GK. Das, Director (Meteorological) Regional Meteorological Centre, Calcutta.
Met officials said that there will be more clarity and precise forecast on the expected amount of rainfall for the next two days.
