French gaming giant Ubisoft has confirmed that multiple new titles under its blockbuster franchises—Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry—are currently in development. The announcement comes at a time when the company is undergoing significant restructuring and cost-cutting measures.
According to a report by Variety, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that the company’s newly formed Vantage Studios is leading development on upcoming entries in Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
Speaking about Assassin’s Creed, Guillemot said that several titles are in development under the brand, spanning both single-player and multiplayer experiences. This signals Ubisoft’s continued investment in expanding the popular historical action-adventure franchise into diverse formats.
On Far Cry, Guillemot noted that anticipation remains high, with two promising projects currently underway. While specific details about gameplay or release timelines remain under wraps, the confirmation is likely to excite fans of the open-world shooter series.
The company also shared updates on Rainbow Six, outlining its ambitious Year 11 roadmap. Ubisoft confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile will launch globally on February 23, 2026, making the tactical shooter experience accessible to players on mobile devices worldwide.
However, the positive development news comes alongside reports of internal restructuring. According to Reuters, Ubisoft’s ongoing cost-cutting strategy may result in the cancellation of up to six gaming titles, including the much-anticipated remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The company cited quality concerns as the primary reason for halting certain projects.
As part of its transformation, Ubisoft is reorganizing into five dedicated Creative Houses. Each division will oversee specific franchises, operating with independent leadership teams and allocated budgets. These units will manage everything from brand strategy and development to marketing and sales.
Executive compensation within the new structure will reportedly be linked to performance metrics such as player engagement and overall value creation, reflecting Ubisoft’s shift toward accountability and efficiency.
Despite internal challenges, Ubisoft’s continued focus on its flagship franchises signals a strategy centered on strengthening its most successful brands while streamlining operations for long-term growth.
