In an effort to address the growing concern over the impact of unhealthy snacking on immunity and overall well-being, the Almond Board of California organized a panel discussion titled ‘Snack Smart for a Healthier Family and Stronger Immunity’ at The Park Hotel, Kolkata. The event featured renowned personalities including Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan, Celebrity Pilates Master Instructor Yasmin Karachiwala, and Ritika Samaddar, Regional Head of Dietetics at Max Healthcare – New Delhi.

The discussion underscored the significance of adopting nutritious snacking habits, with a spotlight on the pivotal role of almonds in promoting immunity and family wellness. Panelists emphasized the need to incorporate nutrient-rich options like almonds into daily diets to combat the adverse effects of quick and unhealthy snacks commonly consumed amidst busy schedules.

According to the experts, almonds are packed with essential nutrients such as vitamin E, magnesium, protein, riboflavin, zinc, vitamin B2, phosphorus, copper, and zinc, all of which are vital for supporting the immune system and overall health. Yasmin Karachiwala highlighted the benefits of almonds, stating, “Incorporating a handful of almonds into your daily diet is more than just a snack choice; it’s a step towards holistic well-being.” Soha Ali Khan shared her personal experience of integrating almonds into her family’s diet, emphasizing their nutritional value and versatility in various meals and snacks. Ritika Samaddar echoed these sentiments, advocating for almonds as a convenient and nutritious snack option to support energy levels and immune function throughout the day.
