UPSC aspirant alleges Byju’s of ‘fraudulent behaviour’, court orders refund

UPSC aspirant Priyanka Dikshit complained a case against the learning app BYJU’S. She claimed that she didn’t get the learning facility from the app despite paying rupees 1.8 lakh. She started her preparation in the year 2021 and accused the manager and Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan of ‘fraudulent behaviour’ and ‘unfair trade practices’.

The court stated“ ₹1.08 lakh in fees deposited by complainant Priyanka Dixit at the time of admission in 2021 must be returned along with 12 per cent annual interest, while ₹5,000 must be given to her as litigation cost and ₹50,000 as compensation for financial and mental agony,” .
