Brace yourself for a cultural fiesta like no other as the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region presents the inaugural Uttar Purvi Mahotsav from January 13th to 17th, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. This five-day extravaganza is not just a celebration but a vibrant tapestry of Northeast India’s arts, crafts, and traditions.
Featuring 250 participants, the Mahotsav becomes a bustling marketplace for handcrafted products, textiles, sustainable handicrafts, and the exotic flavors of Northeast’s agro-horti produce. Engaging panel discussions zoom in on the Northeast’s role in propelling India towards prosperity, recognizing women leaders, and exploring the dynamic contributions of the youth and workforce.
Amidst the cultural showcase with traditional dances and mesmerizing performances, the festival will witness the inauguration of Barak Hostel at JNU, providing accommodation for 400 students from the Northeast, and the foundation stone laying of a cutting-edge North East Convention Centre at Dwarka.
