Vaccination for seniors, 45+ with co-morbidities begin: Nagaland

Along with the rest of the country, the second phase Covid vaccination for above 60 years of age and those above 45 years with co-morbidities was launched on March 1 in Mon and Longleng. 

A press release by District Hospital, Mon, stated that identified facility was selected only for launch, while more facilities will be open to public in phase wise manner. 

A photo ID will be required to register for those above 60 years of age. For co-morbidity issues, a medical certificate will also be required.

DPO, UIP & RCH, Dr. Sashinle Tep informed that COWIN app 2.0 allows onsite registration and that beneficiaries including HCWs & FLWs, who were not registered previously can avail the service and get vaccinated, provided they bring their photo ID. All beneficiaries of Mon have been requested to follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), wearing of mask, sanitize hands at entry and maintaining physical distance, on every session sites.

Longleng: At the launching programme held at district hospital, DTO (NTEP) Dr Temsusashi stated that on site registrations would be available so that beneficiaries could walk into identified vaccination centres, get registered and inoculated. 

Beneficiaries will be able to self register in advance by downloading the Co-Win 2.0 portal and through other IT applications which would list government and private hospitals serving as Covid-19 vaccination centres with date and time of available schedules. 

Dr. Temsusashi further stated that nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive was launched on January 16, which would be exponentially expanded to vulnerable age groups, all citizens above 60 years and those within the age bracket of 45-59 years with specified co-morbidities. 

This was stated in a press release issued by by CMO, Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla.  SDO (Civil), Trongdiba Sangtam, in his short speech thanked all beneficiaries for coming forward to get vaccinated, and further encouraged them to spread the message to their near and dear ones at home and in their own respective wards and villages to avail the vaccine. The program was attended by the staffs from medical department, beneficiaries and well wishers.
