The playback singer Vani Jairam who was 78 years old found dead at her home in Chennai on 4th of February 2023. She was 78. The cause of her death unknown. The singer was also honoured with Padma Bhushan Award. The news of her untimely death has put the people across the country in shock. She was popular for recording over 10,000 songs in her whole career.
The dead body was cremated on Sunday with full state honours at the Besant Nagar electric crematorium.Earlier on Sunday, Tamil Nadu CM, M.K. Stalin arrived at her home and paid tributes to Vani Jairam.
She was started being recognised as a playback singer from 1971 and kept on rocking in singing field for over 5 decades. She sang in around 19 different languages and also was able to achieve National Film Awards and state government awards.
Her big achievement came with Guddi in the year 1971. She collaborated with many celebrated composers, like Sathyam , KV Mahadevan, Chakravarthy, Ilaiyaraaja, and MS Vishwanathan, among others.
