Veteran actor Harish Magon passes away at 76

Veteran actor Harish Magon, best known for his memorable performances in Bollywood classics like ‘Gol Maal’ and ‘Chupke Chupke’, died at the age of 76 on Saturday.

Although the exact cause of his death is not known, it is believed that the late actor died of age-related ailments.

The Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) shared the news of Magon’s death through Twitter.

Mourning the loss of the actor, CINTAA said in its tweet that Magon was a member of the Artists’ Association of the Indian Film and television industry since June 1988.

As reported by ETimes, the late actor owned a film training institute – Harish Magon Acting Institute – in Juhu, Mumbai. He is survived with his wife, son and daughter.

Apart from ‘Gol Maal’, Magan has also starred in popular projects like ‘Namak Halaal’, ‘Mukaddar Ka Sikandar’ and ‘Shahenshah’ – all starring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. In his almost three-decade-long career, Magon has acted in big-banner films and shared screen space with actors like Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, and Big B, among others.
