The Armed Forces Veterans’ Day was commemorated in Tawang with a solemn event organized by the Tawang Brigade at the Tawang War Memorial. The ceremony honored the sacrifices of India’s veterans, attended by local ex-servicemen and veer Naris, emphasizing the strong bond between the Indian Army and its veterans. The day began with a wreath-laying ceremony led by Brigadier Bhupal Singh and Tawang’s seniormost veteran, Koncho Dorjee Lama, paying tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. An interactive session allowed veterans to share inspiring experiences from their military careers. A NAMAN Registration Counter was set up to address grievances of ex-servicemen, exemplifying the Army’s commitment to veteran welfare. The event included a felicitation ceremony honoring distinguished veterans for their contributions to society post-retirement and featured an engaging Army Band performance and patriotic music by local artists. Veterans also visited the Legendary Major Bob Khathing Museum, reflecting on Major Bob Khathing’s significant legacy in the integration and development of Arunachal Pradesh’s frontier regions.
