Extensive security and administrative preparations are being made in Tripura ahead of the two-day visit of Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan to the state on March 7 and 8. Officials said multiple official programmes have been scheduled during his stay, and authorities are working to ensure that all arrangements are in place. West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar informed that district administration and security agencies are coordinating closely to manage the Vice President’s visit smoothly. A detailed review of security and logistical arrangements has already been carried out.
According to the schedule, the Vice President will begin his engagements on March 7 with a visit to the Tripura Sundari Temple, popularly known as Matabari, in Gomati district. Later in the day, he will attend an official programme at Albert Park in Agartala. On March 8, the Vice President will take part in the 14th convocation ceremony of Tripura University. The event is expected to be attended by university officials, faculty members, students and invited guests. After the convocation, he will also attend a programme related to “Lakhpati Didis” at the Hapania International Fairground. During the event, he is likely to interact with beneficiaries and visit exhibition stalls showcasing various initiatives.
Ahead of the visit, a preparatory meeting was held at the office of the District Magistrate of West Tripura on Thursday. The meeting was attended by district-level officials from various departments. During the discussion, security arrangements were reviewed in detail and officials were asked to ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed.Authorities have also been instructed to maintain proper cleanliness in the city and manage traffic effectively, especially along the routes that the Vice President is expected to travel.
