The 36 year old Virat Kohli ended his ODI World Cup 2023 journey as the leading run scorer of this prestigious tournament with a total of 765 runs. He had a fantastic campaign overall with three centuries and six half centuries at an average of 101.57 and a strike rate of 90.69. Virat Kohli had a great tournament in every way as first equaling and then passing Sachin Tendulkar to become the player with the most ODI hundreds (50).Virat Kohli also ended with the most fifty plus scores in single World Cup edition with nine half centuries and passed through Tendulkar’s seven fifties in 2003 and Shakib al Hasan in 2019.
Although India was unable to beat Australia in Final and win the World Cup but still India’s performance was very beautiful. This World Cup was actually very successful and people enjoyed it lot. Due to good performance of Virat Kohli and other players India was able to reach final and made the history once again. People should not be upset about India’s performance in final as Indian team tried their best and most important is to see how beautifully everyone played in this world cup.
